As I arrived in Limerick City, I was struck by its welcoming energy. The locals were friendly and eager to help me navigate the city. With heavy rain in the forecast, I was worried that my plans would be ruined. However, I was determined to make the most of my time there. I jumped into my car and drove around looking for a parking spot. Luckily, I found a friendly Irish woman who not only allowed me to park near her car but also gave me walking directions to all the must-see spots in the city.

My first stop was The Hunt Museum, which showcases private collections of art and antiquities dating from the Neolithic to the 20th century. The museum’s collection includes pieces from all around the world, including items from Africa, Asia, and Europe. Walking through the museum’s galleries, I felt like I was traveling back through time and exploring new cultures.

Next up was the Limerick City Gallery of Art, which displayed contemporary art as well as Irish artwork from the 18th to the 21st century. The gallery is housed in the Carnegie Building, which was built in 1906. The building’s architecture is stunning, and the artwork inside is equally impressive. I spent hours in the gallery, admiring the works of artists from various backgrounds.

After my museum visits, I decided to explore Limerick City’s narrow cobblestone roads and quaint shops. I found some beautiful handicrafts and souvenirs to take back home with me. Along the way, I bumped into some friendly locals who recommended I try Limerick’s famous stew and some Guinness beer. I didn’t need any more convincing and headed to a local pub to try it out. The stew was delicious, and the Guinness was smooth, as any great Irish beer should be.

Limerick City is a beautiful place to visit, especially if you’re traveling solo. The locals are friendly, the museums are top-notch, and the city’s charm is unmatched. Despite the rain, I thoroughly enjoyed my day in Limerick City and can’t wait to return. If you’re planning a trip to Ireland, make sure to add Limerick City to your itinerary. Trust me; it’s worth it! Safe travels!! xoxo
